Curriculum and Teaching Method

Our Curriculum

Explore how we structure both Canadian and Cambridge English pathways for ages 6–11.

Our Canadian English curriculum is designed for primary learners (6–11) and focuses on building core language skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—through age-appropriate themes, projects, and assessments aligned with the Ontario English curriculum. Students receive a clear roadmap with measurable progress indicators at each stage.

The Pre-A1 Starters (YLE Starters) exam introduces very young learners to basic English skills. It consists of Listening, Reading & Writing, and Speaking papers, designed to build confidence through familiar, topic-based activities.

A1 Movers (YLE Movers) is the second level in the Young Learners (YLE) series. It tests Listening, Reading & Writing, and Speaking skills, guiding children to use everyday English and gain confidence in structured tasks.

A2 Flyers (YLE Flyers) is the third level in the YLE series. It challenges children to demonstrate stronger listening, reading & writing, and speaking skills through activity-based tasks, helping them use English in familiar settings.

A2 Key (also called Key English Test or KET) tests English proficiency at A2 level of the CEFR. It includes Reading & Writing, Listening, and Speaking papers to confirm that learners can communicate in simple, routine tasks.

B1 Preliminary for Schools (PET) assesses reading, writing, listening, and speaking at B1 level of the CEFR. It shows learners have mastered the basics needed for everyday English communication.

B2 First for Schools (FCE) tests all four language skills at B2 level of the CEFR. It demonstrates learners can use English independently for study or work.

C1 Advanced (CAE) is a thorough test of all areas of language ability at C1 level. It shows learners have the English skills needed to succeed in academic and professional contexts.

C2 Proficiency (CPE) is the highest Cambridge English qualification, demonstrating mastery at CEFR C2 level. Learners can communicate with fluency and sophistication in any setting.

Our Approach To Teaching

Explore the core features that make our Primary program unique and effective:

Children internalize English naturally through interactive songs, rhythmic chants, and movement games. This builds language fluency in a joyful, engaging way that improves memory and pronunciation.

Our teachers are certified in child-centered language instruction and trained to adapt lessons to different learning styles. They nurture curiosity and confidence while guiding every child’s individual progress.

We create warm, inclusive classrooms where students feel respected, supported, and encouraged. Mistakes are embraced as learning moments, and confidence is built step by step.

We train students to process ideas directly in English, using visual aids, games, and discussions. Our approach boosts critical thinking, creativity, and verbal reasoning through English.

We track and celebrate each learner’s journey—whether mastering a new word or speaking up in class. Praise and rewards help students feel seen, valued, and motivated.

Children explore English through storytelling, drawing, drama, and project work. These creative outlets help students experiment with vocabulary in a meaningful and memorable way.
